DiSC®

What is DiSC®?

DiSC® is a personal assessment tool that helps individuals understand how they naturally approach communication, teamwork, leadership and change. Rather than telling you who you are, it provides a framework for understanding your preferences, recognising the strengths of others, and adapting your approach to build stronger relationships.

DiSC® is an acronym for four key behavioural styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. We all show a mix of these styles, often with a preference for some over others.

At Inclusive Futures, we believe people are far more complex than any profile, label, or suggested personality type. Every person is unique. Most of us are a blend of styles, and there is no ‘best’ profile. Each brings valuable strengths, as well as different challenges and communication preferences. But understanding ourselves more can help us work in a more effective way.

DISC® can support you in:

  • gaining greater self-awareness
  • creating stronger working relationships
  • improving collaboration and teamwork, and better understanding your role
  • communicating effectively with your colleagues
  • dealing with conflict and managing difficult conversations
  • enjoying your work and enhancing your impact
  • identifying your challenges and finding approaches to support you

Our DiSC® process

We offer Individual profiles and 1:1 Coaching or Team profiles and Team Coaching with DiSC as the framework.

We send each person a survey to complete and will then organise a Coaching session to talk through their profile. This can be used to inform coaching sessions, or simply create a conversation around working, and communication styles.

Once individuals have completed a DISC® profile, we can also provide a Team profile. This enables everyone to better understand the strengths and development needs of a team as a whole.

As a leader, understanding the DiSC® profile of your team can help you to tailor your communication to best suit your team, and understand how best to motivate them and support them through challenges and obstacles.
