I can choose and change my labels and think differently about how they effect my perception of being a student”

Future Focus+

For adult learners re-engaging with education

For the thousands of adult learners entering Higher Education or completing apprenticeships and workplace learning every year, we have created a bespoke Future Focus Programme (Future Focus+) to best support them and the unique perspectives that being an adult learner or mature student can bring.
Future Focus+ provides the support that adult learners need to explore how they feel about “studying again”, their mindset about being a learner, and the beliefs they hold. We help them to feel they are in the best place possible to make informed decisions about their future.
Set up as an online self-study programme, Future Focus+ helps learners to explore some of the limiting beliefs that could be stopping them from moving forward.
The programme is supported by an online community where learners can access additional resources, post reflections, find peer support and get their questions answered.
We also offer further support through group coaching sessions where programme topics can be explored in more depth with peers and an Inclusive Futures coach.
The programme consists of a series of videos, tools and workbooks which support learners to:
  • Clarify and connect with their possible future-self.
  • Understand what ‘Imposter Syndrome’ is, and how to challenge it.
  • Re-frame previous stories and experiences of education.
  • Identify and challenge limiting beliefs that have been holding them back.
  • Examine the concept of identity, what labels we carry and how we change them.

Who is it for?

  • Mature students entering Higher Education
  • Employees completing training such as an apprenticeship, who will be going on to change
